General Rules
Organization
- Be tidy, clean up your blueprints, scripts and materials before you submit it. (For yourself and everyone else looking at your stuff 2 years from now)
- Use english
- Remove unneeded nodes or comment why you want to keep it in
- Use backdrops whenever possible
- If you exceed a manageble amout of nodes, consider organizing in functions
- Use material functions for repeated commands
Project structure
- work in Developer folder until you submit a stable version
- Project structure: Follow Unreal Naming Conventions (see above)
Perforce
- Always write usable comments when submitting your work on perforce. Prefix it with your initials. Example: "TS - added new ceiling material and modified stage mesh".
- Submit after a task is complete and before you start something new. This helps to restore individual files if needed
